We are no longer concerned with just building muscle & strength. Our training has more specific purpose. Heavy training and 1 rep-max is no longer relevant for most sport.
Strength training is connecting coaching, skill, focus & technique. We have better tools and can transfer directly to performance. We usually associate weight training with “resistance” training. The load or weight is used in ‘resistance’ to gravity (or the direction of muscle pull) to force a muscle to work harder against the resistance and thus become stronger.
