We are no longer concerned with just building muscle & strength. Our training has more specific purpose. Heavy training and 1 rep-max is no longer relevant for most sport.
Strength training is connecting coaching, skill, focus & technique. We have better tools and can transfer directly to performance. We usually associate weight training with “resistance” training. The load or weight is used in ‘resistance’ to gravity (or the direction of muscle pull) to force a muscle to work harder against the resistance and thus become stronger
This is resistance training and RESISTIVE LOADING.
We need to first get our minds out of the (general) gym and into the (specific) sport and complex movement setting. Let’s stop working on golf problems in the gym, lets work on them at the golf course.
